Grade 10 English Creative Day |
Who
we are is vitally important for how we relate to other people and to the
world around us. Our personal identity is the basis for all our physical
and emotional interactions. Using ourselves as a point of departure when
viewing the world is something that human beings cannot escape.
'Unearthing our creative self' was the theme for the day.

the fifth year in a row, St Mary's DSG Primary School once
again successfully won the schools' Toy Story competition run by East
Coast Radio (ECR) to
raise the most number of toys to give to needy children (some of whom
have never owned their own toy). Mrs
Cheryl Reddy the Grade 6 class teacher and Toy Story Co-ordinator at St
Mary's said, "Our school motto of Service before Self, God before All"
is inculcated in the girls and is the very essence of St Mary's - we are
one big family and when the girls take on a task they really put their
hearts into it. |

Learning Resources Centre Upgrade |
The
library has a new "lounging" area where the girls may relax and read on
the top level of the library. We have also had our poles
beautifully decorated by the Grade 9 Art classes, which has certainly
added colour and an element of fun to the LRC. Although we
encourage a relaxed, informal atmosphere in the library the girls should
be mindful that it is also a place where homework, reading and research
is done and all users of the library must be considerate.
