ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
A number of scholarships are available annually to girls of exceptional academic ability who are preparing to enter Grade 8. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Head, following entrance tests.
All scholarships are linked to fees and increase proportionally with any increase throughout the student’s career at St Mary’s DSG.
In order to qualify for a scholarship, candidates must first pass entrance tests in English and Mathematics. Girls who pass these tests with sufficiently high grades, and have been entered for scholarships, will
be awarded them.
MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP/S
St Mary’s DSG offers Music as a Senior Certificate subject. Girls of outstanding musical ability are encouraged to enter for a Music Scholarship. These scholarships, which cover a portion of the school’s tuition fees, may be awarded to students who have passed their entrance examination and satisfied the additional criteria laid down by the Director of Music (see enclosed).
SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP/S
One or more sport scholarships may be awarded to students who have passed their entrance examination and have achieved at provincial level in a major school sport.

Scholarships are awarded for the student’s full career at St Mary’s DSG, on the understanding that the successful applicant will make every effort to maintain the high standard of which she is considered capable; will uphold the School’s Code of Conduct; and will not behave in such a manner as to bring the school into any disrepute. |
