Christian Leadership Weekend

.
Twenty six Christian Leaders attended a meaningful camp help at Camp Jonathan, in Eston, over the second weekend of the term.

The girls were led into a silent retreat after supper on Friday evening, reinforcing our theme for the term:- “Service before self” and the focus for the week: “love your neighbour as you love yourself”. Material selected from Anne Long’s insights on listening were used. Other Christian leadership material for the girls to pray into and reflect on and journal followed on Saturday. Both breakfast and lunch were eaten in silence- a challenge the girls (and many of their parents) thought they would never be able to meet! All were pleasantly surprised!

The retreat ended with foot washing and the sharing of testimonies. This was truly Holy Ground. The sacristans, SOCS leaders, worship leaders and Boarders’ Fellowship leaders then met in specific groups to pray and plan for the year. Many “happy snaps” were taken after the meetings, as we basked in the late afternoon sun and beautiful surrounds.

Specific planning for the annual Christian Arts Festival took place on Saturday evening, after a time of worship. It was an amazing experience to witness the creative ideas woven together as we shared, laughed and prayed together.

After a very “chatty breakfast” on the Sunday, perhaps making up for the silence on the Saturday morning, the SCA girls had a chance to meet and pray.

We were all richly blessed through the time spent together. From perfect weather on the Saturday to enjoy the beautiful grounds at Camp J, opportunities to fellowship, walk, talk and worship together, we all know our Lord has done a mighty new thing in each of our hearts and lives and we pray that in taking our school motto to new heights, we may serve those placed in our care with humility, love and grace.

To Him be the glory!
