The Resources Centre contains many resources in all formats. Although traditionally a distinction is drawn between curriculum and leisure resources, at St Mary's this distinction is blurred and the use of all resources is encouraged, no matter the format or its original intention, to enable the girls to transcend the boundaries of their existing intellectual or cultural education.
The success of the Resources Centre has been its establishment within the school as a full Department and the presence, at all times, of qualified and trained information ambassadors. The girls are also involved in the "after hours" running of the centre and their help is invaluable.

As teacher/librarians, it is our aim to teach students the research skills they will need to succeed in an information and technology-rich future. The core skills are learnt during the Grade 8 year and are refined during their years at St Mary's.
At any stage of her school career a pupil, or her parents, may consult one of our large team of student advisors or the full-time counsellor who will advise on careers and all forms of higher education.  There is a large section devoted to these topics in the school library, where research may also be conducted with the assistance of an extensive computer programme.
